Debt Share Is Four Thousand Seven Bolts for All Americans

Washington AP reports that 218 million Americans would owe about 4007 dollars each to pay off the national debt, with roughly 224 dollars per person needed for interest in 1979. Tractorcade encircles courthouse to urge consumer attention

About 75 tractors circled the Scurry County courthouse for five hours from 6:30 to noon in a peaceful protest led by farmers. Rodger Blackard said the aim was to persuade consumers without hurting business, and that the action should suffice for now.

Northern Electric to hire for Snyder plant site in former Wickes Building

Northern Electric Co. plans to begin hiring supervisory personnel first for its new Snyder plant, with production workers to follow.
