Scurry County Farmers Union and ASC schedule two 7:30 p.m. meetings this week at Dunn community house and Fluvanna school to explain the 1957 Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation program and Soil Bank provisions. Representatives include Roy Hanson, Henry Burchett, Glen Tate, Grady Williams, Darrell Sims, and Bill Jordan. About 25 farmers attended a Camp Springs session last night.

Right-Of-Way Election On Snyder Freeway Set Feb 16
The Scurry County right-of-way bond election for a Snyder freeway is set for February 16. Voters will decide on a $750,000 bond to cover right-of-way costs for a four lane freeway with overpasses and access roads linking US 84 southeast and north of Snyder, crossing US 180 and SH 208. Absentee voting begins soon with doctor’s certification required for illness voters.
