Snyder Daily News publisher Roy McQueen announced Glenn Rea has joined as advertising manager after five years at Hood County News in Granbury. Rea, from Andrews, says he is relocating with his wife Sharon and two daughters to Snyder and will work with consultants Larry Hatfield and Paula Chastain.
Ira School Board extends Supt Ron Plumlee contract to 1980 and sets April 1 as the annual trustee election. Three board seats will be filled, with incumbent terms for Donnie Dunn, Billy Calley, and Tommy Sterling expiring this spring. Candidate filing ends March 1 at the Scurry County courthouse.
