A Snyder Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday night will feature Maj Gen Samuel T Williams deputy commander of the Fourth Army as main speaker. Tickets at 3 are selling fast in the chamber office with events including Phil Regan and local music groups at the Snyder High School venue. Williams, born in Denton, served in World War I II and Korea, earning the Distinguished Service Cross and other honors. He recently returned to the U S after commanding IX Corps and II ROK units in Korea and has held multiple senior roles from Normandy landings to postwar Europe and Japan duty.
