Western Texas College reports spring enrollment above 650 as registration resumes after weather delays. Registrar Dr. Duane Hood noted continued signups today with a session from 6 to 7 p.m. and full credit registration through January 26. He expected numbers to exceed 700.

County OKs paving costs for Forty-fifth Street project
County Commissioners approve paying 25 percent of paving for two blocks of Forty-fifth Street west to Houston totaling 1260 dollars with Snyder and developer Rodney Smith each covering a quarter. Soviets Land Moon with Lunokhod 2 Rover
The Soviet Luna 21 lander touched down on the Moon at 1 35 a m EST and deployed Lunokhod 2, a 1 848 pound rover. It rolled onto the surface, sent television images, and will recharge before continuing its exploration program with a French corner reflector aboard.
