US Viet Cong battles across Vietnam reported by AP
Three major engagements unfold from the Mekong Delta to Binh Dinh and Que Son. In the delta clash river assault boats faced a Viet Cong battalion, 47 guerrillas were killed with 18 Americans dead and 50 wounded. In Binh Dinh a Viet Cong counterattack hit a South Vietnamese hill bivouac, 14 soldiers and 10 ammunition bearers killed, 30 wounded, 23 guerrillas killed and two captured.
