Blizzard Dumps Deep New Snow
A wind lashing blizzard swept the northern Plains dumping up to 12 inches in the Duluth area. Snow depths reached 27 inches in Duluth with winds 40 to 50 mph and bitter cold in much of the region. Bomb Blamed For Las Vegas Motel Destruction

In South Texas near Three Rivers James T. Hollon Jr. 30 a Pleasanton oil field worker died when two cars collided head on Friday night. His wife Vida and the other driver Frank Carrillo 21 of Corpus Christi were believed uninjured. Police said Carrillo was passing a truck on US 281.
