County Officials Seek Re election in Scurry County

Fire marshal Ivan Gatlin reported the Mrs Bairds Bakery warehouse in Sage and Sand area burned at 430 AM. The frame building valued about 1500 with 800 of bread destroyed. A bakery driver allegedly lit a kerosene stove and left, returning to find flames and collapsing structure in icy conditions.
Bodies Retrieved From Arizona Mountain Crash Site
Eight of the 28 people killed in the Air Force C-47 crash on Armor Mountain were brought down to a Mesa mortuary. The recovered bodies were among those most easily removed as Arizona cowboys aided an evacuation team of airmen. A Wright Patterson Air Force Base team arrived to assist with identification.
