Eight Armed Workers At Plant Jailed
Eight union workers were jailed at the Wilson & Co meat packing plant in Albert Lea Minnesota after returning to work with firearms. A ninth man remained in custody as officers searched cars at the gate finding shotguns rifles pistols and a hunting knife. Martial law had just been lifted and National Guardsmen remained on duty to enforce a district court order limiting pickets and guarding the reopened plant.
