Snyder temperatures show highs 52 Friday 63 to 73 Sunday across regions. Northwest Texas clear to partly cloudy tonight with lows 30 to 50 and Sunday 63 to 73. Northeast Texas mostly cloudy tonight with late showers Sunday and higher 55 to 65. North Central Texas partial clearing Sunday with highs 58 to 68. Southwest Texas cloudy tonight then clear Sunday with highs 64 to 74. Southeast Texas mild with lows 48 to 60 and Sunday highs 64 to 74.
President Nixon told Republican leaders that a House Senate compromise on tax reform boosts the chance he will sign the bill into law. Senate Minority Leader Hugh Scott said final decisions remain unclear as the administration views inflation impact and revenue projections, with key provisions trimmed and exemptions raised over three years.

Shelby Coker, 54, of Snyder declares run as Democratic candidate for Scurry County Judge in the 1970 primary. He and wife Lucille run Highland Park Cleaners. they have two children, Dr. Donald R. Coker and Patsy Elliott. Coker is president of the Snyder Chamber of Commerce and active in local civic affairs.
Astronaut Neil A. Armstrong will join Bob Hope and his troupe to entertain American troops in Thailand and Vietnam during Christmas. They arrived in Bangkok within two hours of each other and plan a joint comedy routine. Armstrong, Apollo 11 commander, may meet Peace Corps volunteers in Thailand before appearing with Hope. Nixon recently named him chairman of the Peace Corps advisory commission.
Funeral service for N. J. Sealy 76 is planned for 2 p m Monday at Bell Seale Chapel with Rev. Marvin Rogers and Rev. Cone Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include Ivy Stardivant Robert Greene Prentice Smith Park Hamilton Paul Cumbie Renal Rosson Melvin Lewis G Williams. Sealy died in a two vehicle crash on U S Highway 84 near Snyder. Two others were hospitalized with serious injuries.

A George Washington University Hospital spokesman said former Pennsylvania governor James H. Duff collapsed at National Airport and died at 9 43 a m EST at the hospital. Administrative officer David Benfer said Duff, age 86, had no further details to release.
