N J Sealy 76 a longtime Snyder resident died after a two vehicle crash on U S 84 about 1 15 p m Thursday near the Rip Griffin Truck Center A 1962 Chevrolet pickup he drove was rear ended by a car carrying two Texas Tech students The other vehicle a 1969 Chevrolet El Camino camper carried driver Donald Wayne Salm 21 Route 2 LaGrange and passenger Wayne L Tammonds 22 Rush N Y The pickup overturned Sealy thrown from the vehicle and died of head injuries Ben F Brooks 80 a passenger sustained possible rib fractures and a possible shoulder fracture He and Salm were treated at Cogdell Memorial Hospital The Tech student escaped injury Funeral arrangements were pending Sealy a retired rancher lived at 3101 Avenue W He was a World War II veteran survived by wife four sons four sisters and 11 grandchildren.

City OKs Offer To Gas Firm In Lone Star Rate Talks
Snyder city council agreed to a reduced gas rate increase for Lone Star Gas Co from 19 to 13 cents per 1 000 cubic feet and raised minimum bill from 1 to 1 15 dollars.
