Mental Health Unit Agreement Approved in Scurry County
After three years of planning, Scurry County and the Big Spring State Hospital signed an agreement to create a local Mental Health Unit in Snyder. County Judge Sterling Taylor and commissioners Hill Hairston Thayne Mebane Marion Dobbs and Earl Sneed, plus Dr. Preston Harrison of the state hospital, signed. The plan envisions a county office and a full-time social worker with modest first-year costs around 6800 dollars. A county 9 member oversight board could be formed, pending decision.

Oil Commission raises Texas allowable to 45.7 percent
