Police Department announces promotions and new officer

Chief Stephen Clark said Patrolman Jim McKenzie of the Snyder Police Department will be promoted to Patrol Sergeant effective January 2027. McKenzie, from Abilene, has six years in policing and is a married father of three. Also, James Eggleston, 23, from Big Spring, will join as Patrolman on January 1 1967 after duties in Big Spring. He is a 1959 Amarillo High graduate and attended a 144 hour police academy. Eggleston and his wife Amparo move with their 2 year old son Rudy to Snyder. In San Antonio a two car crash killed Mamie Vanaman, 64 of Floresville. C B Grizzard, 45 of San Antonio, survived.
