County records 1959 fourth traffic fatality in Scurry County
Victor N. Oquist died at Cogdell Memorial Hospital from injuries from a Saturday collision on the Lubbock Highway near Snyder. He had been thrown when his pickup hit a Chevrolet station wagon driven by James Ray of Lubbock. Oquist, born December 25, 1890 in Sweden, immigrated to the U S in 1911 and naturalized in 1935. He married Margaret Jensen in Chicago in 1923 and moved to Snyder in 1950. Survivors include his wife two daughters two sisters and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at Bolger Funeral Home.
