In Carlyle, Clinton County Sheriff Dan Parker said 34 year old Filmore Young confessed to killing Harold Smith 30 and Arlene Smith 35 near Lebanon on November 27. He led investigators to wells where the bodies of a man and woman were found. Young gave no motive and was held after two hours of questioning.
