Big Three propose Berlin meeting with Russia on postwar Europe

Washington London and Paris floated a Berlin session with Moscow to discuss Germany and Austria next month. Finnegan Surrenders to Start Two-Year Prison Term

James Finnegan former collector of internal revenue in St Louis will surrender next week to begin a two year sentence after more than a year and a half of failed appeals. Finnegan a former Democratic lieutenant named by close friends to former President Truman was convicted of misconduct in office by a federal jury on March 15 1952.

High Court Upholds Shipyard In Dispute

The Texas Supreme Court ruled for Todd Shipyards of Galveston in a payroll tax dispute with the Texas Employment Commission. It reversed most of the Civil Appeals ruling and upheld Todd's challenge over notice of initial claims though the decision could affect refunds for other employers. The case remains subject to motions for rehearing.

Cold snap yields record low for year in Snyder

The thermometer fell to 24 degrees, the lowest of the season, as a dry brisk norther moved through Snyder last night. Dust left by the front settled, winds eased, and a 64 degree high was recorded yesterday with 25 degrees at 7:30 this morning per the weather observer Mrs. D. P. Strayhorn.

Possessed 20 Years Harrells Lose Home Site Suit

A Midland civil district court jury ruled for defendants Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Crabtree in a claim by Miss Myrtle Harrell and two relatives to title to lot 3, block 3, Warren Crest addition. The plaintiffs alleged harbored ownership by the Harrell family. the Crabtrees said they bought the lot from T. C. Goss in 1952 with warranty deeds.

Bidault Returns Home Praising US Leaders

French Foreign Minister Georges Bidault arrived in Paris praising President Eisenhower and Secretary Dulles as sincere friends who sometimes press for quick decisions. Cold Front Brings Chill Across State With Freezing Temperatures

The Associated Press reports a cold front chilled much of the state with clear skies except along the coast. Temperatures before sunrise ranged from 20 at Salt Flat to 66 at Brownsville, with a wide spread of readings from Amarillo to Dallas and Corpus Christi. Small rain fell in Houston, Beaumont and Brownsville while Western states faced wintry conditions and sub zero readings in several regions.
