Payne-Johnson and B G Byars complete Ellenburger discovery in northeast Nolan County at No. 1 McElmurry. Initial test yields 304.95 bpd of 47.3 gravity oil through a 24-64th inch choke with 200 psi tubing pressure and 500 gallons of acid. Gas oil ratio 1,388-1. same well also produced from Caddo lime at 732 bpd. Location 1,500 ft from south and 85 ft from west lines of section 32-19-T&P, miles west of Trent.

North Texas mostly fair with a frigid turn to near freezing in the northwest. West Texas remains fair with cooler nights, panhandle to south plains dipping to near 24 to 34.
