The Senate voted 61 to 27 to limit debate on a broad rail revitalization bill. The motion allows immediate floor debate and may delay action on a New York City aid measure. Assistant Leader Byrd said the chamber would stay in session late to finish rail debate.
Ada Rains 68 of 506 Thirty third Street died on arrival at Cogdell Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Funeral set for Friday at 2 p m at Bell Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Andress officiating. Burial Hillside Memorial Gardens. Survivors include husband D M Rains two sisters Mrs E L McLain and Mrs Hattie Hyde and two brothers Leo Mays and Tom Mays.
Four federal offices and a bank in Miami were hit by blasts on Wednesday night. One bomb was defused. no injuries were reported. A second device exploded during a city wide search, and two post offices and the FBI/Judiciary building area sustained damage. Police hunted a man and woman seen fleeing a post office. No group claimed responsibility.
