Young Allred Injured by Stray Rifle Bullet
James V. Allred Jr., 31, son of the late governor and federal judge, was in fair condition after a stray rifle bullet perforated his right eye at Garza Little Elm Lake. He was treated at a Lewisville clinic then transferred to Baylor Hospital in Dallas for emergency care.

Stevenson Eyes Illinois Senate Run After Kennedy Talk
Adlai Stevenson said he is considering a run for the U S Senate seat in Illinois currently held by Everett Dirksen.
