Schools Begin Parking Lot and Bus Garage at Snyder
Work started yesterday on a parking lot for Snyder school buses on Twenty-ninth Street between Avenues L and M. A 40 by 60 foot maintenance garage foundation is under construction today. The site, half a block, was bought from Mrs. L B Dantzler for 6500 dollars. The 28 bus fleet will be parked on the lot, caliche surfaced and oiled, and fenced soon. Elmer Taylor reports bids for caliche and oil work. The building will hold four buses for maintenance with a repair shop and washing facilities. Arkmo Lumber Co. is laying the foundation for a prefabricated metal building to be assembled by Metallic Building Co. of Houston at about 4600 dollars, with foundation bid of 1665 dollars. Previously buses were kept on the high school campus west of the gymnasium and a small garage in the gym was used for maintenance.
