Snyder School Trustees adopted a 3,740,088 budget for 1971-72 and set the district tax rate at 1.33 per 100 valuation, a reduction from last year's 1.57. Rainfall in Snyder totaled less than an inch in 24 hours ending 7 am. August's total reached 15.30 inches, a new monthly record after a 6.2 inch two day deluge. Lake J. B. Thomas rose 2.30 feet to 2231.76, with 60,240 acre feet impounded. Lake Spence at Robert Lee stood at 1848.02 feet, up nearly .75 foot. Colorado River flow eased at Lake Thomas while rains extended into Mitchell County and Colorado City.
