Mrs. Towle Killed In Auto Crash
Mrs. H. G. Towle 79 died Sunday afternoon after a collision on Avenue S. She drove a 1964 Buick and died at Cogdell Hospital. Passenger Ella Eubank suffered multiple injuries but was improving. Teen driver Troy Koenig was treated for chest injuries. Towle, a Snyder civic leader, helped found the Altrurian Club and donated land for Towle Memorial Park. Funeral set 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Methodist Church. burial Snyder Cemetery. Memorials asked to Mary R. Towle Memorial Fund.

Rights Plank Is Approved By Democratic Platform Panel
Atlantic City AP The Democratic Platform Committee approved a civil rights plank pledging fair effective enforcement of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The plank, part of Democracy of Opportunity, calls for immigration law reform and full equality for women and older Americans, and condemns extremism including the Communist Party Ku Klux Klan and John Birch Society. The panel passed the recommendations and predicted approval by the full committee.

Shooting injures Two Here
Mrs Hazel Bruns wife of Snyder policeman Lester Bruns was reported in serious condition at Hendrick Hospital Abilene later said improving. She was shot at 609 Thirty fourth Street around 12 20 p m Sunday while Bruns tried to disarm her. The bullet struck Bruns in the chest but did not penetrate his body. He is in good condition at Cogdell Hospital.

Blast Kills 1 Workers in Meeker Colorado
In Meeker Colorado a blast of twenty two sticks of dynamite killed four oil field workers from Vernal Utah while preparing a flatbed truck for casing a northwestern Colorado well. The bodies were found Sunday by an oil company representative. The tragedy may have occurred Friday or Saturday along Piecance Creek fifty miles southwest of Meeker. Victims were Charles McConkie 35 Duane McConkie 16 Robert Hatch 27 and Houtz Ress 44.
