Convicts Escape From Maryland Jail
Thirty dangerous inmates escaped from the Maryland House of Corrections in Jessup and spread across the Baltimore Washington area pursued by police with dogs. Thirteen were in custody within hours. escape involved cutting through a bar and security screen, scaling a 15 foot wall and three fences. 30 Year Prison Sentence For James Related Shooting
Ms. Byrom, 23, was shot in the stomach with a 30-30 rifle at the Coleman Street apartment on July 4 and died eight days later at Cogdell Memorial Hospital. A six man six woman jury found James guilty after deliberations that began Wednesday morning. The panel then sentenced him to 30 years in prison in the punishment phase at 5 p.m. The trial occurred in 132nd District Court starting Monday.
