FBI agents shot and killed one robber and captured his accomplice at Kennedy Airport as they tried to board a private jet. Seven hostages, held for over 14 hours after a Chase Manhattan heist of 29 000, were unharmed. The dead man was Salvatore Naturalle. the surviving suspect included John Wojtowicz.

Loans For Flood Damage Available In Snyder And Lubbock
The Small Business Administration opens disaster loan applications for flood damage from the August 13 flood. Loans for businesses and dwellings may be processed in the Lubbock District office with temporary facilities at Snyder city hall. The new law sets interest at about one percent and includes a forgiveness clause. Senator Lloyd Bentsen announced Scurry County’s eligibility and urged speedy processing with minimal red tape. Aerial Spray Set Thursday for Snyder Mosquito Control
The City of Snyder and Scurry County award a 6,400 acre aerial spray contract to Mosquito Control of the Southwest for Thursday morning. Three ounces per acre of 95 percent Technical Marithon will be applied between 6 30 a m and 9 a m to Snyder Helmleigh Fluvanna and Ira. If weather cancels flights they will be rescheduled for Friday. Ground units from Scurry County Health Unit operate daily to supplement coverage.

Weather Warnings Issued for Tornado Threat Across Regions
The Associated Press reports tornado and severe weather warnings issued before noon as storms linger. A tornado warning covered northern Orange and southern Newton counties near Orange with funnel cloud sighting near Victor.
