The Weather Bureau warned of scattered severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday along a line from 50 miles northwest of San Angelo to 20 miles east of Dallas. The alert covered a large North Texas area including Fort Worth Abilene San Angelo Snyder Stephenville and Denton among others.
