The dollar sharply rebounded worldwide after the Federal Reserve raised the discount rate from 7.0 to 7.34 percent. In Tokyo it gained nearly 4 yen, Frankfurt saw a 2 pfennig rise, Zurich and Paris about 5 centimes, and Milan 7 lire. Gold fell in London and Zurich but stayed above $205 an ounce as Tokyo closed up over 2 percent at 190.15 yen.
