The U S Bureau of Sports Fisheries and Wildlife says 300 bald eagles died from electrocution over three years. Eagles are drawn to lines for hunting lift and takeoff, with older distribution lines causing most incidents.

Communist rockets pounded Da Nang and Chu Lai injuring 72 Vietnamese and 22 Americans, destroying or damaging 16 U.S. and allied aircraft. An American advisor also died in a related artillery attack near Quang Tri City.
Horatio Hanks of the Small Business Administration outlined five and one eighth percent loans for about 25 dwelling owners damaged by last Sunday's flood. He noted possible deferment of payments up to five months and explained how businesses with flood losses could also qualify for SBA aid after meetings on Monday and Tuesday.
Snyder National Bank raised its capital stock and surplus by a 100 percent stock dividend at a special stockholders meeting. The bank now shows $1.2 million capital and $1.2 million surplus, reinforcing its position as a well capitalized local lender, said president E W Schrader.

A middle aged man on a bicycle hijacked a United Airlines Boeing 727 at Reno International Airport en route to San Francisco and demanded 2 million in cash and valuables plus weapons. He ordered passengers and three stewardesses off the plane as it prepped for takeoff.
In Beirut a weekend meeting aims to avert a possible oil showdown as five Arab producers led by Saudi Arabia seek participation in Western oil firms. The panel includes Yamani, and seven major Western companies, with OPEC members pressing for terms to curb unilateral action or boycotts.
Mid-South cotton industry leaders met in Memphis to plan rapid movement of the crop to textile mills amid dwindling raw cotton supplies. Samuel B.
