The event runs nightly through Saturday with a downtown parade at 5 p.m. today and features an invitational saddle bronc riding with 21 top riders. Sloan Williams produces the show with D. C. Cogburn’s dog act and Cogburn’s Brahma bull, Jim Miller returns as the longtime announcer, and Hoyle Nix and his band provide nightly dances.

A U S Army CH47 Chinook on a training flight near Grafenwoehr, Bavaria, exploded in midair. All 37 aboard died, including a crew of four and 33 members of the 5th Artillery Brigade.
