Minor damage reported as winds toppled tree limbs and rainfall pushed annual totals to 21.57 inches, with regional totals varying from 1.14 to 4.95 inches. Henrietta, near Wichita Falls, also recorded rain. Redland in Wood County measured 4.95 inches. Eastland logged 2.17 inches.

In Dixmoor Illinois a predominantly Negro suburb south of Chicago a second night of rioting erupted as about 100 protesters clashed with police. Forty people were arrested mostly for disorderly conduct with two injuries from rock throwing and a small gunfire incident.
