Rain continued its assault on the Snyder area as Lake J. B. Thomas logged a major catch in six years. Heavy rainfall filled stock tanks and caused streams to overflow the Colorado River, which ran out of its banks Sunday after Borden County rains. Unofficial rainfall reached seven inches Saturday night. Bull Creek added water to Lake Thomas while the Colorado River Municipal Water District noted rising flows. Two Gail cafes were burglarized last Friday night. change stolen from coin machines. Sheriff Slick Sneed investigates. Reservoir gained about 16 000 acre feet from Saturday afternoon to Sunday 11 a.m. Elevation stood at 2224.62, five.84 feet above the reading.

Hamm, 33, a Snyder resident, died at Cogdell Memorial Hospital at 8:25 a.m. He was born June 2, 1888 in Rosebud, Texas, lived in Carlsbad, New Mexico since 1927, then moved to Snyder two weeks ago. Survived by wife Nettie Hamm, daughter Isabell Wallace, son Curtis Hamm, brother W. Hamm, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Services are pending at Bell Seale Funeral Home.
