Fulbert Youlou resigned in 1965 as Congo Republic president. Fairbanks Alaska faced a flood in 2024 from the Chena River.
Snyder temperatures show a high of 68 and a morning reading of 7 am at 68. Northwest Texas remains partly cloudy and warm through Friday with late thunder showers mainly in the north and highs near 90 to 98. North Central Texas and Northeast Texas stay warm with lows around 70 to 78 and highs of 92 to 98. Coast winds southeast 10 to 20 knots with gusts to 28 near showers. South Central Texas sees a few thundershowers tonight and Friday with highs near 90 to 103.
Secretary Clifford said the United States will not cut back bombing of North Vietnam until an arrangement protects American servicemen near enemy territory. He cited the March 31 restriction allowing strikes above the DMZ and called the current limit reasonable while awaiting a clear signal from North Vietnam.

Bloomington police recovered four pounds of marijuana and three pounds of horse manure in a suitcase. A recipe showed how to dry and grind the manure to stretch the marijuana, which police said would fetch about 1600 dollars on the local market. with manure added the value rose to about 2800 dollars.
In Compton California twenty one people including a grandfather grandmother and eight year old granddaughter died when an Los Angeles Airways helicopter crashed in a playground en route from Los Angeles to Disneyland. The accident followed a May crash that killed twenty three and prompted the suspension of all flights. FAA investigators gathered wreckage as witnesses described a tail rotor detaching before the fall. Crew included Captain Kenneth L Waggoner pilot Frederick Fracker co-pilot and James A Black flight attendant with passengers from San Rafael California and Denver Colorado.
Violent thunderstorms lashed Texas mainly in the Panhandle causing tornado funnels and flooding in Amarillo areas. Hail the size of ping pong balls struck South Amarillo while storms extended toward San Angelo and Sterling City. No major damage reported. several tornadoes prompted warnings in Potter Carson and Hutchinson counties.

Fourteen Cuban refugees escaped in a single engine bi plane piloted to Homestead Airport skimming the Florida Straits to dodge radar. They sought asylum after landing there around 9 am at the south Miami area airfield. The craft, described as a yellow Russian made cargo plane, is said to have originated from Varadero.
Funeral rites for Joe Higginbotham of Hermleigh will be held at 4 pm Friday in Bolger Funeral Home Chapel. He was 65, a native and life-long Scurry County resident, who died Wednesday in Cogdell Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Bob Creswell will officiate. burial at Helmleigh Cemetery.
Emperor Haile Selassie urged Nigeria to declare a cease-fire during ongoing peace talks in Addis Ababa with Biafra. He invited Gowon and Ojukwu to Addis for a face to face session next Monday as Nigerian troops reportedly advance toward Aba. The OAU consultative committee members were invited to attend, while talks remained deadlocked on relief for starving Biafran civilians.
