Diane Hess Crowned Scurry FB Queen at Hermleigh High
Diane Hess 17 was chosen Friday night as the Scurry County Farm Bureau Queen for 1966 in Snyder High School auditorium. She is the daughter of Dale and Mrs Hess Route 2 Roscoe. Runner up is Wanda Hudgins 20 senior at Abilene Christian College. The queen will represent Scurry County in the district contest Aug 27 in Big Spring.

Double U Oil well expands Gardner sand potential near Blackwell
In Nolan County the Double U Oil Co of Abilene reports a 1 980 foot test for Annie Lee and a 660 foot test from Jaggers as Gardner sand prospects. Initial Gardner sand production yielded 168 barrels daily at a 14 64 inch choke with 3 580 1 gas oil ratio and 900 psi surface pressure. A second pay from Gardner lime perforations produced 154 barrels daily with 4 610 1 gas oil ratio and 1 150 psi surface pressure after acid treatment. See OIL Page 2.

Woman Dies From Knife Wounds in Snyder Driveway
Mrs. James Collins a 29 year old Snyder resident died after knife wounds in a fracas in a driveway at 512 Thirty fourth Street. Witnesses said a peach peeling scuffle led to the stabbing. Autopsy ordered. a 5 inch blade knife was found. No arrests by noon Saturday. Funeral plans with Bell Seale Funeral Home.
