Atty. Gen. John Hill announced Southwestern Bell will drop its 45 million intrastate rate request and accept an average 20 million yearly increase over two years. The agreement, filed with Judge Tom Blackwell, saves Texas consumers about 50 million and pauses further rate hikes until a state utilities review after Sept. 1, 1976.
