Kent County reports a Canyon sand discovery at the No. 1 Stewart wildcat 12 miles northwest of Clairemont and 1.5 miles west of Salt Creek field. The well produced 84 barrels of oil and 3 barrels of water in 24 hours from Canyon sand perforations at about 6,036 to 6,073 feet.
