Funeral for Mrs Crowder Set for Saturday at First Methodist

Funeral services for Mrs Ed Crowder 69 of 2903 Avenue X will be held Saturday afternoon at the First Methodist Church with burial in Snyder Cemetery. The Rev J Lennor Hester will officiate and Bell Funeral Home directs. Mrs Crowder born Feb 6 1886 in Lampasas was married in 1904 to Mr Crowder. She moved from Ira to Snyder in 1943 and was active in the church and Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband ten children 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren with services pending word from California relatives. Pallbearers are Jimmy Billingsley Jr J P Pitner Sr Bob Otto Edgar Taylor Emmett Trevey and Ruff Sterling.

Freed Airmen Return From Hong Kong to Clark AFB

Eleven American B 29 airmen freed by Red China arrived at Clark Air Force Base from Hong Kong. They were greeted by Brig. Gen. William L. Lee and U.S. Ambassador Homer Ferguson. The group, previously with the 581st Wing at Clark, will fly to Tokyo then to the U.S. West Coast for reunions. They described their capture after their plane was shot down January 12, 1953 during a leaflet mission over North Korea. Medical checks found them in good condition amid emotional homecoming scenes.

Texan Charged In Bank Robbery

Harold George Wood of San Antonio Texas was charged yesterday with robbery in the holdup of the Cookup Bank at Galt Missouri Tuesday. The case centers on the Trenton Missouri incident and investigators from the area reported the alleged loot and a staged getaway. Police described the suspect as the leading figure in the bank raid and prepared the case for prosecution.
