Laser light tests seek decade of lunar physics data
Scientists at Lick Observatory located the Apollo 11 reflector on the moon after 12 days of attempts. They fired about 500 red pulses 100000 times brighter than sunlight to confirm sighting, with signals returning in 2.5 seconds. Continued observations will be shared with McDonald Observatory as teams pursue six inch earth moon distance measurements and earth axis wobble.
