Mrs. W P Herring 57 wife of Scurry County Commissioner died about 8 45 am in a two car crash on US 84 near Dermott Post Office. Mrs Polly Detert Brown 64 of Aransas Pass was admitted for a fractured left leg. Both vehicles damaged. investigation notes Herring pulled from Post Office, Brown struck her Oldsmobile. Nabors Named New Gas Co Manager at Snyder HQ
William W Nabors appointed manager for Lone Star Gas Company in Snyder directing gas service for about 3800 customers in Snyder and Hermleigh. He joined the firm in 1949 in Temple and rose through clerical posts before taking the top post Monday. Nabors, born in Eddy, graduated Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1934, served in WWII, and is married to Sarah Marie Bigon with one son William W II.

Annual Meet Of Midwest Electric Set
Midwest Electric Cooperative of Roby and Snyder will hold its annual membership meeting Thursday night at the Fisher County Rodeo Grounds in Roby. The Rev. Leon Hill of Amarillo will present his humor program and will fire off jokes in machine gun fashion. Manager Johnnie Ammons will serve as master of ceremonies. The meeting starts at 5 p.m. with registration and a barbecue supper at 6 p.m. Reports from cooperative officials will follow and two new directors will be elected.
