The U S circuit court of appeals orders a new trial in the $100 000 damage suit by John Meints of Luverne Minnesota against 32 local business and professional men charged with tarring feathering and flogging him in August 1918 Arthur Le Sueur Meints attorney was notified of the decision The ministers Ledford and others named by Meints as participants were among those alleged mob members and the case previously ended with a defense verdict M R Meints had been deported to the South Dakota line and Iowa before the incident

Miss Dora G. Sundahl daughter of Mr and Mrs J Sundahl of New Effington wed Carl I Kaple of New Effington in a September 7 ceremony at the Norwegian Lutheran church in Sisseton. Rev C S Wang officiated at 1 30 p m with ring ceremony. Bride wore white satin with veil and asters, maid of honor Miss Clara Syverson and bridesmaid Miss Elvina Syverson wore matching gowns. Groomsmen were Oscar Sundahl and Lewis Kaple. Reception followed at the bride’s parents home for about seventy five guests with relatives from Minnesota in attendance.
