German armistice offer denounced by Petrograd council

The council of soldiers and workmen published a Telegram from the German commander on the eastern front proposing a separate armistice and negotiating terms for an honorable peace. The council denounced the proposal and urged Russian troops to remain united with the Entente. The report notes German general’s claim that such an armistice offers no advantage, while highlighting Russia’s memory of recent battles and the danger of overthrow of allied powers.

Moore Guilty of First Degree Murder in Minnesota Case

Mike Moore, alleged go-between in Mrs. Alice M. Dunn's murder, was found guilty of first degree murder by a jury that deliberated briefly. He received life imprisonment at hard labor in Stillwater. Moore, a former bartender with prior prison terms, cursed the court and demanded immediate sentencing after the verdict. A Sisseton delegation attended the Goth Convention in Minneapolis with many locals among attendees. The Norwegian Synod United Church and Sange's Synod merged, naming Dr. Stub of Deborah Iowa president, with a 2,000-voice choir and remarks from Governors Norbeck and Burauist.

White Rock Youth Harold Schriner Dies in Navy Service

Harold Schriner born August 26 1895 in Minnesota came to White Rock with his parents about four years ago. He left with three companions for New Port Rhode Island to enlist in the U S Navy after joining the Royal M E church and White Rock High School. He died last Thursday May 1929 from a disease contracted after enlistment. funeral services were held in Perryville. Officers and friends mourn his untimely death and many will miss his bright presence in the community.
