B A Sonstegaard and Mary Christensen wed at the groom’s home and Elling Nelson and Josephine Johnson tie the knot at the Lutheran parsonage. Ray W. Scott and Clara Derby married June 30 1908 in Montevideo Minnesota. The notices praise the couples and offer best wishes for their futures.

Kinman Matz Wedding Announced for June Ninth

The STANDARD reports the wedding of Mr. Thomas Kinman formerly of Sisseton to Miss Bertha Matz on June 9 at the bride's home in Rosco South Carolina. They plan to reside in Lane where Kinman has a bank interest and well wishes from friends are offered for a long married life.

Stevens Koutz Wedding in Sisseton City

Miss Luella Stevens daughter of Dr Stevens and Chas Koutz a prominent Veblen businessman married Wednesday at the brides parents home Rev Dunn officiating. The bride is one of the most popular young ladies of Sisseton and the Standard joins in congratulations.

Doings At The Agency Major McLaughlin Leads $300000 Indian Payment

Major McLaughlin special agent of the Interior Department arrived in the city to organize the big payment of 300000 to the Sisseton Agency Indians. The payment will start next Monday and continue until completed with Major McLaughlin’s headquarters at the Government school building. Mrs Sayles named matron of the same school. Changes at the Agency: Major Allen now Indian agent, Major Jackson retiring, Major Elliott present to oversee the transition.

Celia Burns Bennett wife of J W Bennett and daughter of Peter Burns of Sisseton died at her sister Mrs Noonan’s home in Grace Minnesota on Saturday June 27 at age 31. She had lived in Minneapolis since marriage just over a year ago and had been in delicate health, recently moved to Graceville for care. Friends and family express deep sorrow at the loss and honor her memory with prayers and verses.

Wm. McMillan a leading lumber dealer of Menominee Wisconsin was in the city yesterday on return from Alberta where he had just bought a large tract of land. Mrs L W Foss after a two week illness is improved and recovering. A J Norby of Minneapolis is in the city.

Tornado Ravages Clinton Minnesota Killing Seven

In Big Stone County Minnesota a Saturday tornado destroyed Clinton injuring about forty and killing seven. A Milwaukee train left the depot as the storm hit, others rushed to the scene. List of dead includes Mrs Olaf Mickelson and Kate Mills. many seriously injured follow with bruises and broken bones.

Fourth Annual Roberts County Fair Opens With Packed Program

The Roberts County Fair Association launches its fourth annual fair with a strong race program, diverse amusements, and a large crowd. Highlights include Diamond vs Bossko baseball, 23 Galloway and Polled Angus cattle, Hereford bull, and milk cow strains, plus Renix Bros Minstrels and other acts. Races feature one mile trots, free-for-all runs, pony and harness events with purses and entry rules.
