Mitchell hosts a Roosevelt Taft club meeting on January 29 to unite South Dakota Republicans behind President Roosevelt and Taft if needed. Delegates from every county are expected to attend to endorse the party’s cohesive stance amid looming nominations.
A spirited contest at Hudgins' bowling alley last Saturday night pitted Maarvick's Imperial against Tower's Thoroughbreds in a lively match tied to an oyster supper. The Thoroughbreds won as Marvick's Imperials later lost to Bauer's Bully Bowlers by three pins on Wednesday.
Maggie Orr spent Sunday in Browns Valley while Mrs Wm Barnett traveled to Wahpeton North Carolina to visit relatives. J Nordquist left for Wilmar Minnesota to attend a seminary. A surprise party was hosted at Mr Shaft’s home on Wednesday night. Will Orr and Minnie Orr of Browns Valley attended a dance in town held by the M W A last Friday. J E Johnson gave a temperance lecture with moving pictures at Hart No 1 school Tuesday night drawing large attendance.
A teachers' meeting will be held at Sisset on Saturday January 25 at 1 p m The program includes Instrumental Solo Maude Lank Mathematical Geography Chapters and vocal selections by Hylda Humpfner Lila Severance Cecil Parking Pillie Hitler and others from the Country Schools.
