Jury Reaches Guilty Verdict in Burns Larceny Case
In the State vs Fred Burns the jury found Burns guilty of larceny of flax after a long trial day. The case of John Burke for murder proceeded with jury selection, and later the State offered Burke a plea to second degree manslaughter, carrying up to four years. sentencing is set for Saturday. The State also dismissed the case of Gideon Sing.

Swindler Nipped in Milbank After Checks Passed
William B. Holmes arrested at the St Hubert hotel as a D C Ames of St Paul sought for passing worthless checks in Aberdeen Mitchell Bowden Webster and Waubay. He destroyed the checks before capture and planned to buy a saloon ending in no resistance. He is described as five feet six inches tall, well dressed with dark hair.
