He claimed travel from Oskaloosa to Des Moines then Fremont before returning.
In Hatcock County a deadly shooting occurred when James Ames and Hayden of Forest City confronted Ole Nelson at his timbered residence near Pilot Mound. A confrontation led to May sen being shot. Nelson was wounded and Hayden is under bonds amid high public unrest and mob sentiment. Hayden is described as dangerous with a past killing in Minnesota.
