John Rogers Wins Absolute Divorce From Minnie Palmer

A London dispatch reports Justice Barnes of the court of probate and divorce granted an absolute divorce to John Rogers of New York against Wilhelmine Rogers known as Minnie Palmer on grounds of misconduct by the wife with her theatrical manager. Delays in issuing the decree followed speculation Rogers could not substantiate his charge. Minnie Palmer, a New York resident, remains linked to theatre circles.

May Manufacture Liquors Bills Stoked In Iowa Legislature

Washington Pec 16 Utah statehood contemplates on Utah admission

Washington December 16 congress adjourned after motion to set aside time for amendments to rules and committees. Hearne Murder Trial Opens as John Stilwell Testifies

John El Stilwell testified in the Hearne murder trial in Bowling Green Missouri, recounting attending a manager card party the night of the murder and playing cards with Hearne and his wife. He described Stilwell as very mild tempered and feared offense from the company. He said Hearne arrived at the home where Dr Hearne was present and examined the wound, noting no blow was found on the deceased to suggest a strike elsewhere. Mrs Hearne cried openly during testimony and left the stand briefly weeping.
