A wooden inkstand dating to about 1600 BC and possibly from the eighteenth or nineteenth dynasty was recently acquired by a Berlin museum. It has two ink compartments and reed-pen storage, with both black and red ink present. A second larger inkstand, said to have four ink-holes for a schoolboy, was also found at Thebes.

The druggist Knapp & Co. adds the note that the remedy is safe for babies and adults. Drinking to drown one's misery is putting out fire with oil.
An old ad claims Electric Bitters restore stomach liver kidneys and nerves, renewing vigor with 40 cent price. Dr Kings New Life Pills touted for headaches and blood purifying effects at 26 cents. Dry King’s Discovery for consumption and colds advertised with over a million free trials given.
