Cummins Delegation Shaped by Sioux County Convention
Republicans of Sioux county held a Cummins focused convention at Rock Valley selecting delegates from Hawarden Ireton Orange City and others. J B Van Dyke Hawarden was temporary chairman and L M Black elected county chairman for the ensuing year amid affirmations of McKinley era prosperity and support for Cummins and Brown with a long delegate list from towns across the county.
