Teachers attended a meeting with Superintendents and principals among attendees. W C McDonald of Hull faced assault charges in Squire Stikkerveer's court and pled guilty to a common assault with a one dollar fine plus costs. Local residents visited Sioux City and Alton for court, estate matters, and social calls.
An unusually interesting meeting was held Friday evening with a recitation by Mrs Rosena Jacobs songs by Brothers Van der Velde and Tidies and a notable reading by Miss Cora Redmond Five new applications were received and Miss Currie McCune proposed an entertainment temple of fame under Good Templars auspices in about two weeks The group planned social games and future officer installation next week, with committees arranged for quarterly financial entertainment and recess activities Local business included rules barring on duty employees from drinking and bar access near railroads and churches referenced by the Knights of Pythias schedule.
G W Be Hil’s health failed and he canceled all dates and went to Des Moines to recuperate, with a memorial page set aside in the Connecticut Grand Lodge Journal of 1890.
