Regular April 1901 session records list paupers and partial claims allowed. The committee to audit county treasurer’s books reported, was approved, and placed in the minutes. The board adjourned to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1901. TD DeMore, Wa. Craty, County Auditor, Chairman.
Second day at Orange City Iowa April 2 1901 the board met with Wm Dealy as chairman present along with Chas Harmelink A Van der Wilt J Blatherwick and John Smith. They approved yesterday's minutes and bonds for justice of the peace 8 C Groth. T H Van Sickle appointed constable for Buncoombe Twp. Mrs Douma petition rejected and lot 6 Johnsons second addition Calliope to be redeemed from tax sale. J W Le Grotenhuis refund of 8.67 granted for church purposes.
The county board granted refunds for 1900 and 1899 taxes due to errors in assessment for several claimants including 8 W Gamble Jan Klopper H Huisman John J Large and C Van Geest. Adjustments ranged from $0.54 to $5.08 with other small refunds. The board adjourned to reconvene at 1 30 p m to hear arguments on the saloon petitions re canvass in Sioux county Iowa.
April 2 1901 session minutes read and approved. Auditor instructed to send fifty dollars to Dr Kogler Co Dubuque IA for Mrs G Ver Hoef. Bridges granted for Nassau township sections 21 22 82ft, 13 14 95 44 14ft, 14 15 82ft. Other petitions laid over referred or adjourned. Tax refunds for 1898 1899 1900 granted. School textbooks vote canvassed 205 in favor 619 against. List of paupers.
