Carbonate of Phosphate Will be Used on Roads
Clear Lake Indiana June 19 A carload of carbonate of phosphate was shipped into Clear Lake this week to reduce dust on the road around the lake. The material was chosen over oil due to concerns by the Izaak Walton league that road oil near water harms fish. The state highway commission last year tested carbonate of phosphate and recommended its use on highways. It absorbs and retains moisture to keep roads in good condition despite showers.
