Hewitt mine strikes rich new galena body

A crosscut in the Hewitt mine uncovers a three foot wide galena ledge parallel to the main vein about eleven feet from the upraise. The ore carries more lead and contains grey copper and ruby silver while development continues on three levels. A contractor tunnels 1100 feet as tramway rights of way await cable arrival to speed completion.

Graves outlines Miner Graves Syndicate revival on Rockland mine

Jay P Graves says the Miner Graves Syndicate will resume operations after consolidating Boundary holdings including the smelter. The Rockland prospect, its only Slocan property, shows strong gold copper potential but transportation delays and late snow have slowed work. A crew will be sent in soon with expected increased development funding.

Hampton Group Mine to be Pushed by Silverton Owners

Silverton owners advance Hampton Group project near Slock City. A substantial cabin and ore house will be constructed immediately with lumber cut and prepared for transport to the mine. Owners Messrs McNaught and McKinnon recruit a crew locally. the Hampton is described as a valuable property.

Torpedo claim near Four Mile creek shows rich ore

Work continues on the Torpedo claim up Four Mile creek where assay values reach 196 ounces of silver per ton and 40 percent lead. A cross-cut is 40 feet long from the Nol tunnel, with a month of driving ahead. Workers under Duncan Grant repair the Four Mile wagon road to permit pack-trains.
